Cup with deep bowl, short pedestal foot and pair of high-swung flat handles which extend above the lip.

Diameter 179mm with and 119mm without handles. Height 111mm with and 66mm without handles.

Small chip on lip, otherwise perfectly preserved. Worth the exhibition in a museum.

Acquired 2021 from Mr. M.B., Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, who acquired the kantharos and other objects from the collection of M.T., Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. Inherited from his parents who acquired the object in Germany in the 1960s. A note from the antiquities dealer Dr. Kurt Deppert, "Kunstwerke der Antike", Frankfurt am Main, dated February 08, 1968, sets the terminus ante quem the object was acquired into the collection T. Dr. Deppert was requested by the family T. to provide a short assessment of the collection, which he did along with a detailed description of all objects. Both, the written request to Dr. Deppert and his reply, are preserved, a copy of the documents will be provided together with the object.
