| Description: |
Two Byzantine earrings, belonging pair. Each earring consists of a circular bow with three loops soldered to it. Each loop carries a chain with a pendent made of a gold sphere and a bead. The four garnet beads are near spherical, the two emerald beads are cylindrical. All beads are finely polished and clear. Earrings of this type were popluar for almost two centuries in the Eastern Mediterranean. Known finds come from the coastal area between Syria and Egypt, as well as from the Greek islands and Cyprus. |

Approx. 65mm long from bow to beads. Approx. 25mm wide at the bow.

Worthy of a museum exhibition. Body and chain fully intact including original gem stone pendents. Bows slighty bent.
