Description: |
Earring made of gold wire. The wire forms an oval with one bent ends, one to form a loop, the other to form a hook. A decorative group of small gold beads is mounted at the loop. Another such group is mounted at the lower side of the oval and extends into a straight wire with its end twisted into a knot. Two gold beads are strung to the wire. Overall a very nice specimen and typical gold jewellery for the eastern provinces during late Roman Imperial times. |

Perfect condition. Gold wire, granular decorations and pearls in its original condition and intact.

Acquired in 2018 in a European auction house. Consigned from the asset of the collection of orientalist N. Giron (1884 to 1941), that was build before 1941.
