Format: 18 cm x 12 cm x 7 cm
Dry-embossed pigskin leather over wooden plates. On the verso Christ on the cross, two saints at his feet. Dated 1605.

Edition: Rare first edition by Andreas Schott and the only 1604 edition currently available on the market known to us.
The Jesuit priest Andreas Schott (1552 - 1629) is today mainly known for his editions of Latin and Greek classical literature.

Condition: Very good condition, appropriate for the age of the volume. Binding slightly worn, clasps missing. Title of part 1 with several 17th century hand-written owner notes and mark "Franziskaner Kloster Dettelbach". Title of part 2 with small part missing at margin. Pages partially slightly stained. On the spine library sticker "Philos. 12() 18".
