Seljuk fire striker with Arabic calligraphy
Once essential fire-making tool for daily life, often carried in pouches and sometimes adorned with intricate designs, like in this case. Circa 11th to 12th century.
Large Roman roof tile from the Rhineland
Found near the Roman city of Novaesium, today's Neuss in Germany, an early Roman foundation and with this one of the oldest cities in Germany.
Large spectacle brooch
The bronze brooch was made between the 9th and 6th century BC. It is formed by a single piece of wire. Acquired in 1983 from Herbert A. Cahn.
Decorative plate of a large italic quatrefoil fibula
Lozenge-shaped plate with punched pattern along the long axes and the edge. The brooch that matched this decorative sheet metal must have been of magnificent proportions.
Athenian Kylix from the collection of the famous architect D. Haner
Very nice specimen from the 6th - 5th century BC. From the estate of Douglas Phillip Haner, known among others for the Maerkisches Viertel project in Berlin. Acquired in Europe in the 1960s

Worth the exhibition in a museum. With fine decoration including large boars. Published by H. Born (1993) and M. Junkelmann (2000). Ex Christie's London and Royal Athena Galleries New York.
Massive roman Hercules bronze figurine with silver torc
The figure is of very high workmanship, details like facial features and hair are finely worked and still perfectly preserved. Ex Cahn, ex Bonhams.
Roman bowl of colourful ribbon glass
The bowl was made in mosaic glass technique. It is truely a work of art and a showpiece for the glass production in the Roman core region during the Early Imperial period.

Perhaps the most famous hero of antiquity. The Hercules figurine is of the highest artistic quality. He wears a twisted silver torc of Celtic type around his neck, making the statuette a unique testament to the ancient fusion of cultures.
