| Description: |
A low, flat standing discus, from which a short, conical foot rises seamlessly. This foot merges seamlessly into the deep, globular cup. Above the two slightly vertically placed handles, there is a constriction, forming a steep rim that ends in a slight lip. Interior: a large, bare tondo. Exterior: a wide, bare band below and above the constriction. Otherwise, completely covered in black. |

Acquired in 2020 at a US auction house. Consigned there from a US private collection, which had been acquired in 2019 at Klein James Auctions, Seattle, USA. From the estate of Douglas Phillip Haner, whose private collection had been acquired in Europe in the 1960s. Douglas Haner was a renowned architect who, in the 1960s, together with his then-wife Astra Zarina, dedicated himself to projects including the Märkisches Viertel in Berlin, as well as numerous other projects in various European countries. |
