Description:    Sword or long dagger with a long blade narrowing towards the tip. Directly attached, flat bronze handle with circumferential high rim. Originally, the handle was decorated with inlays which are not preserved. The semi-oval handle tip allowed the warrior to firmly hold his weapon in battle.

Size: Length 49.7 cm, thereof 35.5 cm blade. Width 4.1 cm

Condition: Perfectly preserved example of an important Luristan weapon, stable bronze. Slightly cleaned, without damaging the colorful patina. Dents on the blade edge impressively preserve the impact of ancient battles where this sword was used. Small chip at the back part of the handle.

Provenance: Acquired 2016 in a German auction house. In this from a German private collection in which it was acquired in the 1950s.
