Object: Small oinochoe

Material: Red clay with black slip

Date About 4th century B.C.

Description:    Pear-shaped jug with ring-shaped base and flat-convex handle. Short neck opening into a trefoil-shaped mouth.
The body is fully covered with black slip.
Reported to have been found in Spina area. Spina was a Greek-Etruscan city on today's Emilia Romagna in Italy. Possibly import from Apulia, such vases were e.g. very popular in Gnatia.

Size: Height 105 mm, Diameter 69 mm.

Condition: Very well preserved, black slip partially worn. Strong patina, especially around the bottom.
