Description: |
Large chimney-shaped vessel with foot in two degrees. Gently curved shoulder, high thin cylindrical neck, lentil-shaped lip, flat handle. Body decorated with chariot scene: One figure in chariot pulled by three horses, another one in front of it, a third figure behind the horses and facing the first two. Another female figure is seated on a folding stool at the head. Line and meander band above the figures, two bands of rays and tongues on the shoulder. Manner of the Haimon painter. The human figures possibly represent amazons. |

Condition: |
Excellent condition, worth the exhibition in a museum. Foot broken and re-attached, small chip at lip, otherwise undamaged. On the bottom sticker "CP GJO Attic 580BC" from Davies Antiques gallery.
