Description:    Head of Medusa worked in high relief, in wreath. Originally used as decoration for a bronze vessel or furniture object.

Size: Height 70 mm without and 71 mm with base. Width 59 mm without and 61 mm with base.

Condition: Overall nice condition. The head itself very good preserved with minor wear. About 2/5 of the wreath missing. Nie, green patina. Mounted on a modern acrylic glass plate.

Provenance: Acquired 2023 on the German art market. Ex German private collection Steinbock, which was composed between 1920 and 1982 by the art historian R. Steinbock, mainly acquiring from the German art market.
