Description:    Group of an Italic serpentine fibula with big disc from the Villanova culture, three boat fibulae or Sanguisuga fibulae from the early Etruscan period, as well as 13 other bronze objects or bronze fragments from these cultures, including a bronze sheet with a decorative head. It can be assumed that all of the objects come from northern Italy.

Dimensions: The disc headed brooch measures approximately 5.5cm x 4.5cm x 3.5cm "box size". The body of the largest early Etruscan brooch is 3.8cm long. The bronze sheet with decorative head is 14.4cm long.

Condition: One fibula is almost completely preserved except for a broken and restored pin. The other objects of the group are fragments.

Provenance: Acquired by us in 2023 on the Swiss art market. Previously in the family estate of the collection Prof. Dr. Kurt Alder-Kissling (1927-2019) from Riehen in Switzerland. Acquired by Professor Alder-Kissling in May 1977 in Switzerland.
