|
Material: |
Beige stone.
|
Period: |
Approx. 2nd Millennium BC. Bronze Age of Mesopotamia. |
Description: |
Spherical vessel with polished outer surface. A cylindrical void was drilled into the inside. The vessel can stand on a slightly flattened base. A short neck runs into a wide discoid lip. It is a heavy and high quality vessel, reminescent of the similar Egyptian stone vessels. |
Dimensions: |
10.6cm height, 11.6cm diameter.
|
Condition: |
Small chips to the lip, otherwise apart from negligible chips to the body intact. A damage at the base was filled in probably in ancient times. The condition and especially the mostly intact lip is rare and sought after for a vessel of this type.
