Material: Black stone.

Period: Around 1500 BC.
Late Syrian.
Middle Bronze Age.

Description:    Cylindrical seal with a central through hole. The surface is engraved and generates a scene when rolled out. It shows four persons standing upright in long robes and with headdresses. The persons are gods or noblemen, e.g. rulers.

Dimensions: 26mm length, 12mm diameter.

Condition: Perfect condition. Very well preserved body with sharp edges on the surface. Without a modern seal imprint.

Provenance: Acquired by us in 2023 from T. Schloessner, Germany. Previously in the German Steinbock family collection, built between 1920 and 1982 by the art historian R. Steinbock, mostly acquired on the German art market.
