Bronze Age.

Description:    Double-edged blade, tapering to the front. It is reinforced with a flat medial ridge along each side. A short integral tang is at the back to mount the tip to a shaft. The piece is probably a lance head.

Dimensions: 15.8cm long.

Condition: Very good condition. Some old or recent damage to the edges, tip of the tang broken off and missing. Body otherwise fully intact and covered with an attractive green patina. With an old sticker from a previous owner reading "1000 v. Chr. 110,-".

Provenance: Acquired by us on the German art market in 2022. Previously in the German Pladeck family collection. Acquired into the collection in the 1960s or earlier, presumably from the art trade.
