Small neolithic axe head from southern France. The tool has the shape of a trapezoidal wedge. Both sides are finely polished. The stone blade was once mounted and used as an axe. Some old chips indicate its practical use.

Beautifully polished surface on all sides. Some chips on the body and the cutting edge. Overall good condition. Sticker from the Artaud collection with "AH10" printed on it.

Acquired by us in 2022 on the French art market. Previously in the French Artaud family collection, collection number AH10. Acquired in the 1970s in Aix en Provence, France.
