Description: |
Two earrings made of gold. Each consists of a circularly bent gold wire, one end designed as an eyelet and the other wound around it. A convex round shield is soldered near the eyelet. There is also a pendant on the gold wire. It is made of turquoise-blue faience in the shape of a cone with longitudinal grooves and an eyelet at the end. The size of the pendants is slightly different, but the earrings probably belong together as a pair originally. The earrings were certainly manufactured in the eastern Mediterranean region, possibly in Roman Egypt. |
