Object: Clay figure of the “seated doll” type with richly ornamented diadem

Material: Red clay

Date: 3rd - 1st century B.C.

Description:    The strands of the melon coiffure arranged in 8 sections over the forehead. On the head is a high, richly ornamented diadem with rows of humps (below and above) and a partially broken jagged edge. Legs close together. The movably mounted, but rigid arms are slightly angled according to the sitting posture. Crossed hump chain on the decoltee and under the breast.
Makers signature in greek letters on the back.

Size: Height 135 mm with socket and 114 mm without

Condition: Head and body fully preserved, small damages at head dress, otherwise excellent condition.The head is re-attached. Arms attached with a string and fully movable, reconstructing the original attachment. Legs partially broken. Mounted on a modern socket, below an old sticker "026".
