Description: |
Dagger with a short blade narrowing towards the tip. Directly attached, flat bronze handle with circumferential rim. The handle originally was decorated with inlays which were hold in place by bronze sheets. Both inlays and sheets are not preserved.

Length 32 cm with 21 cm long blade. Width at blade 2.4 cm.

Condition: |
Stable bronze in very good condition. Slightly cleaned, without damaging the colorful patina. Dents on the blade edge
impressively preserve the impact of ancient battles where this dagger was used. Handle inlays and overlapping bronze sheets are not preserved.

Provenance: |
Acquired 2016 in a German auction house. In this from a German private collection in which it was acquired in the 1950s.
