Date: Late 7th - 1st half of 6th century BC

Description:    Cup with deep bowl, short pedestal foot and pair of high-swung flat handles which extend above the lip.

Size: Diameter 184mm with and 123mm without handles. Height 118mm with and 76mm without handles.

Condition: One of the handles restored from two fragments, otherwise well preserved with minor wear.

Provenance: Acquired 2021 from a German private collection. Inherited 2017 from the German collection I. Holtermann. Acquired August 12, 1967, at an ancient art gallery in Cologne, Germany. An inventory note from the collection reports the kantharos to have been found in Cerveteri.
