Material: Brown clay with glossy black slip

Date: Ca. beginning 6th century BC

Description:    High globular vase with prominent ridges above the foot, on the lower part of the body and below the shoulder. Two small handles arranged in a 45deg angle. On each side of the shoulder between the handles a rosette made from small stamped circles, to both sides of each rosette another stamped circle. Short cylindrical neck. Bowl-shaped lid with central knob handle.

Size: Height 290mm incl. lid, diameter 180mm

Condition: Perfectly preserved body, one side with sediment deposits. Lid professionally restored from several pieces.
Provenance: Acquired 2015 from German private collection S. Haag. Acquired by Mr. Haag in 2012 from Swiss private collection Birnhauser. In this from Swiss private collection Zweifel, in which the piece was acquired from and old Swiss private collection which was composed before 1930. Reported as found in Cerveteri.
