Description: | Mesopotamien clay tablet with cuneiform inscription. Ur III administrative tablet, dated to a year of King Shu-Suen(aka Shi-sin) of Ur. He was king of Sumer and Akkad, and was the penultimate king of the Ur III dynasty, circa 1972-1964 BC. It concerns the disbursement of amounts porridge/stew as food provisions for 15 female flour grinders. Each is given 6 quarts, and the total disbursement of 90 quarts of porridge/stew is shown. Probably from the city of Garana though not part of the recently published Garana Archive which is slightly earlier. |
Condition: | Small chips, especially on the revers. Otherwise fine. Readable text. |
