| Description: |
The goddess Fortuna wears a long robe (chiton) and a cloak (himation) over it. She gazes straight ahead, strictly frontally. Her right arm hangs down, her forearm bent; in her hand she once held a rudder. In her bent left arm, she holds a cornucopia filled with fruit. On her head she wears a diadem, beneath which strands of hair are combed straight forward and swept back. The face is rounded and oval, the eye sockets and mouth are recessed, and the nose is prominently sculpted. The goddess stands in contrapposto; the robe, including its folds, is rendered in three dimensions.

Height 114 mm

| Condition: |
Perfect condition. The figure itself is complete and intact; the rudder, which the goddess presumably held in her right hand in antiquity, is broken off and missing. The figure has been cleaned but has retained much of its original patina and developed a new, beautiful patina. It stands on its own.
