Description: |
Neolithic axe head from Northern or Central Europe. The axe head has a pointed trapezoidal shape and is roughly worked, not polished. A special feature is the modern, museum-quality, custom made shaft which gives a great impression of the tool's former mounting.

Dimensions: |
Just the axe head about 9cm long, 4.5cm wide at the cutting edge. The modern wooden handle 40cm long.

Condition: |
Very good condition and beautifully mounted. In this form, it can be used directly for an exhibition or for didactic purposes.

Acquired by us in 2022 on the German art market. Previously in the German private collection Pladeck. Acquired into the collection in the 1960s or earlier.
