Object: Neolithic chisel from Northern Germany

Material: Light grey flint.

Period: Approx. 3400 BC to 2400 BC.
Late Funnel Beaker culture to Single Grave culture,
Northern European Neolithic.

Description:    Small chisel, polished on two sides. Small slightly curved blade, finely polished. Elegant shape.

Dimensions: 142mm long, 18mm x 11mm at the butt.

Condition: The tool is in an condition making it worthy of being shown in a museum. Gorgeous piece with only minor and probably prehistorical chips. Old sticker "25".

Provenance: Acquired by us in 2018 from the German family collection Warning. Acquired in the collection by Karl Walter Warning between 1905 and 1925, collection no. 25. A hand written list from that time denotes the find spot as Lützow in Mecklenburg, Germany.
