Nicely decorated Graeco-Roman gold earrings

Description    The earrings are shaped as crescents and made out a hollow gold tube. At the center, five hollow gold spheres form a delicate pyramid. Each earring is decorated with an oval-shaped red gemstone.
Very minor differences in the production approach and details may be a hint that these earrings originate from two different pairs, made, however, by the same workshop.

Size: Length about 16mm, width 14mm.

Condition: Perfectly preserved with minor dents / scratches. Original gemstones made of glass. Sophisticated and impressive piece of ancient jewelry.

Provenance: Acquired from the German private collection M. Dollinger, who inherited the earrings from the German private collection Fritz Rose. The Rose collection was created between 1960 and 1986 through acquisitions made during the numerous travels of the collectors.
