A thermoluminescence analysis performed by Kotalla laboratory (RefNr. 04R-AR-3275) has confirmed the age of the vase to be 2410 years +/- 13.8%.

Description:    Conical foot, ovoid body, thin concave neck opening in a funnel with wide flat lip. Thin attached handle.
The vase shows a naked young man leaning to an elaborately decorated altar. The right hand holds a wreath, the left a flower. Hair dressed with a pearl diadem, over the shoulder and left thigh pearl bands.
The image is framed on both sides by half-volutes, on the opposite side below the handle voluminous palmette. On the neck band of long vertical rays.

Size: Diameter 120 mm, height 249 mm.

Condition: Perfectly preserved, undamaged, incl. the original painting.

Provenance: Acquired 2022 at the German art market. From an old German private collection, acquired in the 1980s from the German art market.
