Description: |
Lamp with a round body and typically shaped short nozzle. Low and thin rim around the filling hole, forming a small ledge around the opening. Rim around shoulders. Flat bottom. Broken loop handle. Two concentric circles between two incised lines on nozzle. So-called Jerusalem oil lamp, Herodian shape. This high-quality type of lamps, burned without oxygen and thus having the characteristic black color, was manufactured in the area of Jerusalem. |

Very well preserved, only minor chips on body. Loop handle broken in antiquity.
