Object: Discus shaped beads from the Ounjougou culture
You are buying the remaining beads from the group shown below.
Material: Stone in many variaties.
Dimensions: 8mm to 20mm in diameter, 15mm diameter on average.
Period: Approx. 5000 BC to 3000 BC
Stone Age, neolithic period.
Possibly some from the Copper or Bronze Age.
Condition: Fine condition. Some can have small chips (cf. foto).
Description Hand-made beads, typical style for Africa some millenia BC. Most are finely edged and all in the shape of a near circular disc with a central drillign hole.

These are interesting but well-affordable pieces for experienced and novice collectors alike. You are looking at examples for early jewellery and possibly pre-coin currency. The beads are also ideal for making a wearable necklace.
Provenance: Finds from Northern Africa, Western Sahara. Bought 2007 from a durch antiquities dealer.
