Description: |
Elongated, pear-shaped body, widening sharply at the base and terminating in a high point. Slender neck, outwardly curved rim, large opening. Flat handle. This amphora type appears from around 30 AD and was produced throughout the Mediterranean until the middle of the 2nd century. It was used for transporting wine and fish sauce (muria). |

Condition: |
One handle is broken off in ancient times and is missing. The neck is broken off in modern times and remains fragmentary, except for approximately two-thirds of the lip, which was lost in antiquity. The tip is broken off in modern times and remains as a fragment, with some traces of ancient use visible. The body is otherwise intact.
