Material: Gold. The inserts and beads made of glass.

Period: 3rd century AD.
Roman Imperial period.

Description:    Two gold earrings. Each consists of a gold wire bent to a circle, the ends twisted to eyelet and loop. A box shaped mount made of sheet gold is soldered on opposite the clasp. It holds a green glass insert. There is also a pendant on the gold wire. It consists of a short piece of gold wire, attached via an eyelet at the end. It holds a cylindrical bulbous white glass bead.

Dimensions: 25mm and 23mm long, respectively.

Condition: Perfect condition. Including the original bead pendants and glass inserts.

Provenance: Acquired by us on the art market in 2022. Previously in the French private collection Levy. Acquired into the collection in 1982.
