Rudolf Scheubert, the husband of Margarete Scheubert, was a diplomat. In the 1960s, the Scheubert family had a close relationship to the former royal family of Tunisia and spent a lot of time in the country until 1974. Their son, Bernhard (Bernd) Scheubert, who was the partner of E.S., later became internationally known as the „Tunisia Painter“.
