|
Material: |
Bronze.
|
Period: |
12th century BC to 8th century BC. Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age. |
Description: |
Large brooch made from a single piece of bronze wire with circular cross-section. The bow is straight, a simple loop serves as a spring for the pin. For the foot, the wire is bent in a wave shape, with three wave valleys bent sideways to catch the pin. A very rare brooch type.
|
Dimensions: |
Approximately 16cm x 5cm "box size".
|
Condition: |
The pin is broken and has been placed in its original position using a modern plastic tube. The tip of the pin and the last part of the foot are missing. The remaining body is very well preserved with a beautifully patinated surface. Overall, the specimen is impressive due to its size and good condition for such a delicate wire body.
