Antique books
Ancient books and texts since the invention of bookprint
In the antique books section of the Alte Roemer Gallery you can find works from Ancient Greece and Rome like Plato or Cicero, but also rare banned books from the 16th and 17th century that have been forbidden by the Index of the Holy Inquisition, as well as numismatic literature. Most of the works are – corresponding to the time they appeared – written in Latin or Greek, but you will also find books in English and German.-
