On both sides of the handle are three-dimensional volutes culminating in the depiction of a charging boar. The workmanship is of exceptionally fine quality.

Stamped Roman oil lamp with parallel in the Getty MuseumAlmost perfectly preserved. With potters mark LMV.AD[I]EC. An almost identical lamp is on exhibition in the J.P. Getty Museum. From a very old German family collection, acquired between 1925 and 1935. The find region is known to be Tunisia.
