Elaborately decorated, finely crafted piece. A fascinating example of an early Greek bronze vessel. Formerly in the Galerie Athena in Munich, acquired there in 1991.

Featuring a three-dimensional depiction of a grim satyr's head and Medusa's head. On both sides of the handle are three-dimensional volutes culminating in the depiction of a charging boar. The workmanship is of exceptionally fine quality.

Almost perfectly preserved. With potters mark LMV.AD[I]EC. An almost identical lamp is on exhibition in the J.P. Getty Museum. From a very old German family collection, acquired between 1925 and 1935. The find region is known to be Tunisia.

Scarce, early depiction, stylistically still strongly influenced by the kouroi of the 6th century BC, but incorporating the pan flute as an element of daily life or a ritual context. Very good condition, with a fine dark green patina. Ex Cahn AG.

Rome mint, 177 - 178 A.D. The reverse shows Roma standing left, holding Victory and spear.

About 4th - 3rd century B.C., a very similar figurine is on exhibition in the Civico Museo Archeologico in Milan. From the old German private collection H. Deikner, acquired prior to 1980.
