Ancient bronzes in the Alte Roemer Gallery
Since its invention, for a long time bronze was mainly used to produce products that should reflect the prestige and wealth of their owner. Examples of this are bronze figurines of all kind, from the Greek bronze statues down to small bronze figurines depicting gods in ancient Egypt and Rome, bowls, plates and other objects of daily life, oil lamps, Etruscan bronze mirrors but of course also bronze weapons and armor. The dishes were in particular often imitated in – the much more economical – pottery, since bronze pieces were hardly affordable for the common population. Bronze, along with precious metals, was naturally also a very popular material for jewelry, fibulae and various ornaments. The online shop of the Alte Roemer Gallery offers you a broad selection of authentic ancient bronze pieces from different epochs and cultures. It would be our pleasure to work with you individually on your personal collection, and help you find special pieces that you would like to add to it. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time via email or using our contact form. Correspondence is welcome in English, German, Italian, French, Russian or Japanese.-
